A tote bag is made of dense cotton fabric by a local seamstress. The print is made by hands of Viki Virgo in ancient technique that was used in Ukraine, called “vybiyka”.
 
Vybiyka is a type of decorative art that was widespread throughout Ukraine. This way people created various ornaments on canvas with the help of special carved wooden forms and paints. It was used to decorate household textile items and clothes. We decided to recreate  this ancient technique on modern things like this tote bag.
 
A trident is one of the symbols of Ukraine. It also was well known in the days of Kyivan Rus as the sign of Princes.
